Best Anti Aging Moisturizer Review for Jan. 2020
The knee-jerk opinion of many “medical experts” is that the description “anti-aging moisturizer” is really just a marketing gimmick to sell face cream. They say that there’s no conclusive scientific proof that creams can help prevent aging – therefore, the claims made for these moisturizers must simply be fluff.
Try telling that to the millions of women who’ve had amazing success using the top 5 best anti-aging moisturizers you’ll see on this list, or the many other successful moisturizing creams that smooth wrinkles and revitalize skin. They’ll not only laugh in your face, but their face will look better than yours while they’re doing it.
There’s actually real science behind many of the anti-aging moisturizing creams on the market; for example, the long-chain amino acids known as pentapeptides are known to stimulate the body’s production of collagen, and Argireline complexes act on the skin much the same way as Botox. Both are used extensively in some of the most popular anti-aging creams available today – which are a whole lot cheaper than just one Botox injection.
So don’t listen to the naysayers without trying these creams yourself. Here’s where to start.
1. Olay Regenerist Regenerating Serum
You’re right, this is technically a moisturizing serum rather than a moisturizing cream. But this lightweight moisturizing face serum is one of the best-selling anti-aging products in the world thanks largely to the action of collagen-stimulating palmitoyl pentapeptide-4, one of the product’s key ingredients.
Of course, it may also be because Olay Regenerist serum is much less expensive than many of its “luxury” anti-aging competitors which do pretty much the same thing. (Olay also offers a very good Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream, a moisturizer which operates in a similar fashion but doesn’t include the important pentapeptide ingredient. The company, of course, recommends using them in tandem; first the serum, then the cream.)
There are long-term and short-term benefits to the way this Olay Micro-Sculpting product works. The hydration provided by the serum immediately softens skin and regenerates surface cells, lessening the appearance of existing wrinkles and fine lines in the first few days of use.
Meanwhile, the pentapeptides are sent ten layers deep into the skin to work with your body, producing new collagen which will “plump” the skin and firm the appearance of your face after only about four weeks. It’s fragrance-free, too.
This Olay serum is a huge bargain compared to the highly-touted designer anti-aging moisturizing creams on the market. Considering the fact that the Regenerist cream performs just as well, choosing a top ranking for this list was a no-brainer.

2. Principal Secret Reclaim Revolutionary Day Cream
We’re moving up in price. This product from Reclaim is more than twice as expensive as the Olay serum, but it’s also more of a traditional anti-aging moisturizer. It also makes use of peptides in the form of its proprietary 5% Argireline molecular complex and adds APT-GC for exfoliation, so the end result is the smoothing of fine lines and wrinkles and faster growth of new skin, in much the same way as Olay Regenerist works.
The company claims that its Revolutionary Day Cream restores as much as 37% of lost moisture immediately; Groom+Style can’t substantiate the numbers, but this is definitely an effective product.
The cream also includes SPF 15 protection so you won’t feel the sun drying out your face once you’ve applied Reclaim, and there won’t be further damage to your skin caused by exposure to sunlight. There’s a companion Reclaim Revolutionary Night Cream as well if you want to add this full line to your skincare regime.
The review team are usually skeptical about celebrity cosmetic lines (this is from actress/model Victoria Principal if you didn’t recognize her name in the brand), but this is an exception.

3. Origins VitaZing Energy-Boosting Moisturizer
This Origins product takes a different approach than the first two on the list, forgoing the use of peptides in favor of all-natural herbs and fruit extracts. The key ingredient is mangosteen extract taken from a fruit which contains polyphenolic compounds rich in antioxidants; there’s also a combination of chestnut seed extract for exfoliation, and several ingredients to boost overall energy – so if your skin doesn’t look better after using it, at least you’ll feel better about life in general…
VitaZing moisturizer is meant more as a traditional moisturizer and short-term solution for pesky facial lines and wrinkles, but healthy, hydrated skin will naturally contribute to a successful long-term approach to the battle against aging.
The all-natural formula with no synthetic ingredients, parabens, sulfates, GMOs or other unhealthy or controversial ingredients makes this Origins product the perfect moisturizer for women who live an all-natural lifestyle.

4. Vernal Anti Aging Moisturizer Cream
Another moisturizer which takes advantage of the collagen-producing properties of peptides, this product works well to revitalize and regenerate skin over the long term with deep-level hydration, while adding a healthy glow and reducing wrinkles and lines. It also contains a healthy dose of Vitamin C serums, along with hyaluronic acid which keeps skin moist and plump.
Vernal markets this moisturizer as an all-in-one product, so it doesn’t have to be used in conjunction with other serums. That may be why it seemingly takes a bit longer to produce visible results, the primary reason this product hasn’t been ranked it higher on this list.
It does work well, though, as both an anti-aging formula and a hydrator. The green tea and peppermint extract used in the formulation gives it a nice smell, too.

5. Crème De La Mer Original Skin Moisturizing Anti-Aging Cream
Note – before you buy this product please ensure you are buying an original, as there are a few fake creams going around for unsuspecting buyers.
Groom+Style can’t promise that you’ll look like Jennifer Aniston or Jennifer Lopez if you use this product, but at least you’ll be using the same anti-aging product that they do. Of course, they can also afford it, since it is very pricey.
So, what does the Crème De La Mer cream do that’s so special, in order to justify the price tag? Not much, really – it has many of the same anti-aging antioxidants like Niacin and Vitamin E found in other products, minerals such as Zinc and Copper Gluconate which can stimulate the production of collagen while contributing to the anti-aging process at the cellular level, and fermented sea kelp which is supposed to be very expensive and do something very important – the manufacturer just doesn’t tell us what that is.
Putting the snark aside, the product works and works well to reduce lines and wrinkles and moisturize the skin.
Groom+Style included it on this list primarily because many everyday users swear by it – and because some people see a celebrity’s beautiful skin and say: “I want what she uses!” Well, here it is.
Be aware though, that the Crème De La Mer also contains petroleum products, as well as lime and eucalyptus which can irritate sensitive skin.
